My team the 'Sunnyfield Ducks', is taking part in the 2014 Pub2Pub Charity Fun Run & Walk to raise much needed funds for clients at Sunnyfield.

Sunnyfield has been providing services to people with intellectual disabilities since 1952, and strives to create choice, opportunities and skills for life for all of our clients.

It was absolutely incredible to do the Pub 2 Pub in 2013 with many awesome friends, family, colleagues, and Sunnyfield clients walking, running and wheezing our way up the Northern Beaches.

Last year my team alone managed to raise over $1000 with your help, and it went to helping some of the incredible Sunnyfield clients I work with. This year, I am trying to smash the record, and raise over $2000. It is a huge goal, but one I believe we can reach!

It would mean so much to me, and to our clients at Sunnyfield if you would come and walk, jog or run the Pub 2 Pub with us this year. It is an incredible experience, and awesome to walk alongside and get to know of some of our inspirational clients

 

One of Sunnyfield’s clients, Becky, recently received a communication aid that has allowed her to share stories with the aid of visual prompts. Even though Becky is non-verbal, she can now use her Chat Book to convey choices, express needs and feelings.   The ability to communicate has had an immense and measurable impact in improving her ability to participate in the community.

 

More people like Becky need to receive support through donations to Sunnyfield.
