Ben Kende Foundation

Story

Hi there,

On August 24th I will be running with a group of supporters in the 13 km ‘Pub 2 Pub’ charity fun run from Dee Why to the Newport Arms. Well, I won’t actually be running. I'll be rolling the course in a wheelchair my friends have 'tricked up' for the occassion. I may have an advantage on the downhills, though the uphills will be tough. And the sand will be murder...

All proceeds will go to the Ben Kende Foundation. The Foundation provides ongoing support for my rehabilitation and actively lends and receives support from other spinal cord Foundations.Any help would be fantastic. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page above or comment below so more people know about it. Click 'Donate Now' to make a secure online donation. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation.

Thanks so much for your support!

Ben

Ben Kende Foundation (The Trustee for)

At 18,  Ben Kende suffered a catastrophic spinal injury in an international rugby competition. Ben became quadriplegic, with no lower body movement and severely restricted upper body function. However the remarkable thing about Ben is not his injury, it is his absolute determination to succeed despite his injury.

Now 22, Ben will graduate from Sydney University this year, having three times received the Rectors academic award and appointed Student Leader at St Johns College. He has undergone tough operations and intensive therapy 3 days each week.

The Ben Kende Foundation was formed with the aim of providing ongoing support to Ben and actively lends and receives support from other spinal cord Foundations. We are a recognised Charity, run by volunteers and 100% of all donations we receive go directly to support the Foundation's activities.
